Embracing Christmas: Finding Hope Amidst Life's Chaos
Dec 22, 2021My Beloved Sisters,
As we embrace the Christmas season, I'm struck by the importance of hope in our lives. Amid the hustle and bustle, it's easy to get caught up in the worries and stresses that life often brings. Family gatherings, mental health challenges, financial concerns, and the rush of the holiday season can consume our thoughts.
But in the midst of all this, I'm reminded of the miraculous star of Bethlehem. This bright beacon, guiding the way to the birth of Christ, symbolizes the extraordinary things God can do. If He can orchestrate the appearance of that celestial light on the precise day of Christ's birth, surely He can guide us through the complexities and challenges of our lives.
Resources for The Holidays
- During this time, I want to share some resources with you. The Nativity story offers valuable lessons, and I've discussed five of them in one of my most-watched YouTube videos. Mary, the mother of Jesus, had to place her trust in God to navigate a difficult and challenging journey. You can find inspiration in these lessons in your own life: 5 Lessons from Mary Mother of Jesus.
- The holidays often mean spending time with family, which can be a source of joy or a challenge. In one of my episodes, I talk to Wendy about everything related to family, including self-care, genetic genealogy, and topics to discuss during family gatherings. These conversations might be helpful during the holiday season. Check it out at Wendy Wilson Spooner: How Do I Solve My Family Mysteries?
- The holidays can also bring added stress, especially for those dealing with mental illness. I had the privilege of speaking with a counselor, Brad, who shares 14 tips to face the holiday blues with cheer. His insights can be valuable if you or a loved one are navigating these challenges. Listen to this episode here--Brad Neufeld: 14 Tips to Face the Holiday Blues with Cheer.
As we approach Christmas, I want you to remember that you can place your trust in God. Let your faith and hope be in Him, as it says in 1 Peter 1:21. I've personally experienced God's blessings and guidance countless times, and I find peace even on the night before my son's wedding, despite the inevitable chaos that life on Earth brings.
So, when life feels nutty with its detours, challenges, and joys, remember the miracle of the Christmas star. It serves as a reminder that God sees you and is already preparing the miracle you need. Lean on Him, trust Him, and He will see you through.
Hope on!
Tamara
