Embracing Life's Unexpected Challenges with Faith
Aug 04, 2021My Dearest Sister in the Journey,
As I write this letter to you, I want you to know that your heart's desire to have a life that aligns perfectly with your dreams and hopes is something we all share. But have you ever felt like life took you on a wild, unexpected rollercoaster ride, leaving you breathless and wondering when this chaotic phase will come to an end? Do you long for a deep sense of peace amidst the whirlwind, questioning how you'll ever survive?
The truth is, my dear sister, no one's life unfolds with flawless precision, even when it seems like someone else's does. I can assure you, mine certainly hasn't. In fact, I have yet to meet a person who has experienced a perfect life. Life's unpredictability and chaos are common threads that weave through all our stories.
So, how do we not only endure but thrive in the midst of life's unexpected challenges? I want to share with you some valuable insights:
Embracing the "Lucky Few"
Heather Avis found herself on a journey that diverged from her expectations. She believed that because she had lived a life filled with righteousness, God should bless her with biological children. Yet, the path God had in store for her was different. Heather's story led her to adopt three remarkable children, two of whom have Down Syndrome. Today, she proudly considers herself one of the "Lucky Few." In "Heather Avis: How I Became One of the Lucky Few," she shares her journey of embracing the unexpected and finding profound joy in the midst of it.
In Psalm 127:3 (KJV), we are reminded, "Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Heather's story beautifully illustrates that God's blessings can come to us in ways we never anticipated.
Lessons from Elijah's Life
Recently, I delved into the life of the prophet Elijah and uncovered three secrets from his story that have been invaluable in navigating the complexities of my own life. I share these secrets with you in "The Secret to Sanity When Life is Crazy." Elijah's journey holds profound wisdom that can guide us through the most turbulent seasons of life.
In Psalm 34:17-18 (KJV), we find solace: "The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit." Elijah's story is a testament to God's unwavering presence and deliverance in the midst of chaos.
Becoming Perfected Through Christ
It's essential to remember that perfection in life is not the ultimate goal. What matters most is that, through our faith in Jesus Christ, we are in a continuous process of becoming perfected. He is the one who can support us, carry us, nurture us, and save us when life's journey takes us through its most hair-raising twists and turns.
I know this to be true because He has walked with me through the messiness of my life, offering His help and salvation. Most days, I go to bed feeling utterly exhausted, but I can attest that I have not only survived but thrived with His presence. And you can too, my beloved sister.
In 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV), we are reminded of the Lord's words to the Apostle Paul: "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." It is in our moments of vulnerability and imperfection that God's grace and strength shine brightest.
So, as you navigate the unpredictable twists and turns of life, I encourage you to hold fast to the hope that resides within you. You are not alone in this journey, and your faith in Jesus Christ will be your steadfast anchor in the storm.
With love, faith, and unwavering hope,
Tamara
