Dear Beloved Warrior of Light,

As I write to you today, I want to delve into a topic that touches the core of our hearts: self-love. It's a journey, isn't it? The journey of learning to look in the mirror and say, "I love you" with sincerity. Some of us can do it effortlessly, while others, like my younger self, may have struggled to find beauty and worth within.

I remember a time when I preferred the shadows, a place where I could remain unnoticed, a place to hide from a world that often seems obsessed with superficial beauty.

But what if you, or someone you hold dear, battles with self-love? Can we find the strength to embrace ourselves fully?

Resources for Self-Love

  1. I'd like to introduce you to Teinamarrie, a woman who grew up with dreams of becoming a princess despite the challenges of a single-parent household. Pageants became her path to self-discovery, her journey to becoming a queen in her own right. Her story is a testament to the transformation that can unfold when we embark on the journey of self-discovery and self-love. Listen to her story here: Teinamarrie Scuderi: A More Loving World Starts with Me.
  2. Next, let me share the remarkable journey of Vinney Tolman. After a near-death experience, his perception expanded to see the angels that surround us daily, messengers of God's boundless love. In a snippet from Vinney's interview, you'll discover a world where love and protection are ever-present: Vinney Todd: Why You're Never Alone or Beyond God's Love.
  3. For those who grapple with depression or simply need a dose of self-care, I invite you to engage with the wisdom of Kim Rippon, a licensed clinical social worker. In a conversation that includes self-care worksheets, Kim offers guidance on supporting our loved ones who may be wrestling with the shadows of despair: Kim Rippon, LCSW: How to Help Loved Ones Struggling with Depression.

You Are Loved and Lovable

It's possible to learn to love yourself, my dear sister. I've traversed the path from that timid teenager who sought refuge in the shadows. My journey toward self-love commenced as I truly grasped the depth of God's love for me. Confidence blossomed as I set and achieved small goals, gradually reaching for greater ones. It is through this process that I've learned to love and care for myself.

So, if speaking those three words to the reflection in the mirror seems daunting, consider taking a single step. Remember, you are enveloped in love, lovable just as you are. Embrace this truth and let it radiate from within.

Hope on!

Tamara
